Conference's Most Popular Activation Is Quiet Chair With Nothing Happening
Attendees queue to stop being engaged for five minutes.

BEYOND THE ACTIVATION ZONE — After twenty-five thousand steps, six screens and a keynote competing with the lobby soundtrack, an attendee discovered a chair in a quiet corner and sat down.
The chair had no QR code. Nobody asked her to select a journey. It did not collect her email or invite her to unlock a personalized moment. For five minutes, her attention belonged to her.
Word spread. A line formed beside the unused immersive activation. The sponsor asked whether the chair could be branded; the planner suggested leaving one object in the building without instructions.
The attendee eventually returned to the session she had come to hear, with enough energy left to hear it. The post-event report called the chair a breakthrough. The planner called it not spending everyone's brain on the way to the point.
