DMO Insists Its City Is Different, Using Same Four Adjectives as Every Other City

A VIBRANT CITY — The destination marketing organization unveiled its new identity with a sizzle reel featuring a rooftop, a laughing chef and a drone approaching a bridge. The CEO described the combination as unprecedented.

The city was vibrant, walkable, authentic and emerging. A competing city was also all four. A third had added 'unexpected,' which the first city's agency immediately placed in a revision request.

A meeting planner asked about loading access, room inventory and the shuttle time at rush hour. The presentation advanced to a photograph of cocktails. 'We prefer to start with the feeling,' the sales director explained.

The CEO promised that no two groups would have the same experience. The next group received the same deck with a different logo on slide one. Its members agreed the destination felt familiar, which was recorded as a brand success.
